For the Art Lover…

Whether you’re into world-class museums, quirky street art, or one-of-a-kind galleries, there’s no shortage of inspiration here in the Twin Cities

Walker Art Center & Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

The Walker Art Center is one of the nation’s premier contemporary art museums. Just across the street, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden offers iconic outdoor pieces — including the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry. Perfect for a photo op (and a nice walk).

Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA)

For those who love a deep dive into art history, the MIA’s massive collection spans 5,000 years and includes everything from ancient artifacts to impressionist paintings. Bonus: admission is free!

Franconia Sculpture Park

If you’re up for a little drive (about 45 minutes north of the Cities), Franconia Sculpture Park is an open-air art experience with large-scale, interactive sculptures. It’s part museum, part playground, and fully unique. Stop at Sven Factory Outlet Store or go for a hike at Interstate Park if you are headed that way.

Northeast Minneapolis Arts District

This neighborhood is buzzing with creativity — studios, small galleries, coffee shops, and street murals around every corner. If you’re lucky, you might catch an open studio event. You can see Jamie’s art at the AMF Gallery in the Northrup King Building. Home to 350 individual art studios.

Street Art & Murals Tour

From Prince portraits to colorful abstract walls, Minneapolis and St. Paul are home to incredible murals. Check out the North Loop, LynLake, and Downtown St. Paul for some of the best.

Weisman Art Museum

Located on the University of Minnesota campus, this museum is a work of art in itself — the Frank Gehry–designed building is worth the visit, and the exhibits are always engaging. Admission is free here, too.
